PORCELANITE DOS, A BENCHMARK IN THE TILE CERAMIC INDUSTRY, HAS BEGUN THE INSTALLATION OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT THAT WILL COVER 18% OF ITS ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION.
Elektrosol, the company carrying out the installation, calculates that, with this action, 255.94 tonnes of CO2 will no longer be emitted into the atmosphere, or the equivalent of CO2 generated by 255 homes per year..
At a time when the price of electricity in Spain is soaring and the tariff model is under scrutiny, the industrial sector is demanding more competitive and cleaner alternative energies. In this context, Porcelanite Dos is taking a step forward by committing to a paradigm shift with a photovoltaic plant for electricity self-consumption at its headquarters in l'Alcora (Castellón). The installation will consist of 1,400 panels of 540 Wp (watt peak) each, which will generate 1,001,495 kW/h annually and will cover 18% of the company's electricity consumption, which will be renewable.cubrirá un 18% del consumo eléctrico de la compañía, que será renovable.
The project will not only have a positive impact for the company in terms of costs, self-sufficiency and competitiveness, but will also substantially minimise the carbon footprint generated in the company's production processes and reduce CO2 emissions by more than 250 tonnes per year, saving 8,288 trees from being felled. Responsibility towards the environment and commitment to the sustainability of its actions are an important pillar in the growth strategy of Porcelanite Dos. One of the reasons it has become in one of the first companies in the tile industry to join the self-consumption of electricity in order to reduce polluting emissions into the atmosphere such as CO2, Sox and NOx.reducirá en más de 250 toneladas el CO2 que se emite al año, salvando de la tala 8.288 árboles.
